Teachers will get the privilege
to vaccinate but what about the numerous children, taking this matter into
concern the Assam Education Department is hesitant on the decision of reopening
of schools on 1st September as decided by the state government along
with Health Minister earlier .

Biswa Sarma is not ready to put risk on scheduling offline classes as most of
the children are not vaccinated though the Health department has no issue on
reopening of schools. Even the present situation of Assam is not encouraging as
500 infected cases exist which is not a minimal numbers.
Fresh SOP to be set across by the
government and according to which the Education Department will abide. State
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu to initiate talks with the All Assam Student’s
Union including numerous indigenous organization concerned to come up with better
decision to reform the education sector.
Offline classes to be started in
phased manner observing COVID impact in the region from 1st November
after the grand Durga Puja festival as part of ‘Unlock 5’ initiative of the
Central Government. According to Himanta Biswa Sarma the Assam CM to conduct a
massive vaccination drive to include not only teachers but even students.
In addition as per to the new SOP
the students prepared for offline classes should produce written permission from
their parents.
