Second wave of flood in Assam this year is taking a heavy toll on property and living beings because of the rising level of the rivers and tributaries where entire Guwahati metro city is on the verge of getting flooded.
Upper Assam and lower Assam’s major districts are gripped under worse flood condition. The Subansiri Lower hydel project’s twin 250 MW units came to a halt due to heavy discharge of river water. Flooded villages appear like a water maroon giving a shrill to the ones who had encountered this drastic state.
Evidence of poorly erected embankments came to the light after the heavy second wave of flood, leaving many people residing nearby it homeless. Highlands are covered by rising water level of the river, giving tough time to the rescuers and the people rendered homeless.
