UNESCO World Heritage To Spot In Another Assam Tourism Site

Naturally rich Assam has another popular enchanting site the Charaideo maidams, Sivasagar district on the list of UNESCO World Heritage’s nomination, as it has its own exception to be titled so, what the archaeologists of the state believe.  

Reports on its exceptional qualities were submitted, and awareness programs have been conducted on the 600 years old essence of Ahom Dynasty in Assam. Chairdeo past 600 years back was considered as first capital of Assam where in its maidams the remains of royal people were concealed after their departure.

Health Product Millet Launched In Assam, Morigaon

In the wake up call for health, model millet project has been launched, marking the International Year of Millet by NABARD, Morigaon in association with KVK (Krishi Vigan Kendra) and Somala Mahila Sangha  at Pub Barbhugia village at 150 bighas.

In this advantage of millet project more than 25 self help groups have come forwarded. This model millet project will be implemented in 23 districts of Assam where people will be trained on processing, marketing linkage and production of the crop. In the attempt to popularize millet cultivation and quality production, NABARD under other associations to spread awareness programmes to evaluate on the richness of millet and farming.

Will Prime Minister’s Ethanol Move Reduce Fuel Price?

Ethanol is the waste of grains mixed in fuel, to which Prime Minister Modi has thought of making an economic move by cutting cost of Rs 54, 894 fuel import with introduce of 20 percent ethanol in petrol 84 petrol pumps in 11 states.

Point is enormous production of ethanol to make India self sufficient in fuel with price drop which will take time.  Currently 15 cities of India is privileged by ethanol blend petrol.

Brahmaputra South Bank NH Roads Of Lower Assam To Get Four Lane Look

Communication in Lower Assam has become essential to move in more economic travelers looking out for trading destinations in the region for greater evolution in business, plus visitors’ inflow, the National Highway 17 by the south bank of Brahmaputra to be introduced with four lane roads under the flagship of NHIDCL (The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation).

This Rs. 1,568,1 crore NH project by NHIDCL to focus on the development of two stretches of NH-17. NHIDCL second project includes four lane works with paved shoulder on the Dhupdhara to Milmia stretch (before Chhaygaon market) of Bilaspara-Guwahati road.

Assam Electricity Tariff Hike To Become Effective By 1st Feb And So Strong Opposition

Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL) to exceed electricity charge by Rs 50 paisa per unit for all consumers from 1st February which the All Assam Student’s Union (AASU) has condemned strongly as unfair.

According to Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment (FPPPA) the hike money will be used for Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment technically, but the consumers will be badly affected due to which AASU to raise statewide protest on 1st Feb. Assam Government’s this anti-people decision is to impact lakhs of poor and middle class  consumers due to which the protest is to be made statewide that AASU is vehement on its decision.

Assam Government After Farmers Initiate Move For Weavers To Get Fair Price

‘Meddle of Middlemen’ have gone too far, squeezing out fair price of producers but now the BJP government under the head of Prime Minister Narendar Modi making strategy that not farmers but also weavers get fair price directly from the market dealers.

Unable to identify the original market dealers the weavers and farmers were compelled to sell their produces at lower price. Now the state’s Handloom and Textiles Department initiate to reach out to weavers registered under them, to buy their products.

Swanirbhar Naari scheme  helped nearly 4.8 lakh women register who will be directly benefited by the network of dealers arranged by the Assam government. Weavers with benchmark handloom products were opened with facility to register at government site that came into exercise mid of last year.

Under Swanirbhar Naari site the Handloom and Textiles Department could directly detect weavers from all over Assam and pay directly through DBT (direct benefit transfer) online system. There will be expert committee who will rate products of the weavers on the quality that comprise raw material substance and input of labor and labours.

Manipur First Time Observes Fish Festive To Mark Goddess Emoinu

Fish is the essence for Northeast people’s meal but festivity is first of the kind and there is a reason to do so as traditionally Manipuri people have been offering seasonal vegetables, fruits and fish to Emoinu Iratpa Numit on every 12th Day of the ‘Wakching’ month.

This ritual of fish offering to Emoinu on Wakching month of Manipur’s lunar calendar is observed especially by the Meiti community of the state, but even rest people are joining to mark fish festivity ‘First Emoinu Fish Festival, 2023’ that was conducted by the Department of Fishery along with fish farmers.

The purpose of this festival is also to deliver the desired items for the customers observing the religious ritual of worshipping Emoinu Iratpa Numit. The idea of fish festival originated from the successful organizers of annual fish fairs of 2022, who had been ritually conducting such seasonal event since 1979. Fish has remained Manipur’s economic backbone with production of 32,000 metric tons last year, where such festive event is just to edge its sales and production volumes.

Assam, Mangaldai Authority Intervenes To Ensure Farmers’ Get Fair Price

Fair earning by hard means is not easy especially for farmers whose deal intervened by the middlemen on to which Mangaldai district administration making strict monitor over paddy procurement centres (PPCs) to discourage such act.

ADC (Additional Deputy Commissioner) Vivek Shyam Pangyok ensured that farmers make deal for their produce at Rs 2,040 per quintal at paddy procurement centres, Kharupetia. Discouraged farmers from any act of falling prey to middlemen by ADC Pangyok. Mangaldai district authority likely to exceed procurement from its last year’s achieved target 66.20%.

Sweet Tangy Orange On Festive Way In Manipur

Assam To Become Efficient On Alternate Energy With APDCL

APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Limited) in collaboration with AFDCL (Assam Fisheries Development Corporation Limited) shifts gear for a change in alternate power production with floating solar plant for self sufficiency in distribution after taking a nod from the Assam government.

Construed to be effective alternate power source to make the state self sufficient, the State Cabinet issued rights of the 185 beels comprising of 12,266 hectares to APDCL for 30 years lease. Such floating solar plant projects are underway where apart from APDCL even joint venture firms to involve.

Assam And South Korea To Trade In Tea

In an initiative to boost Assam tea export the Tea Board and the Indian Embassy’s four delegation members worked out with South Korean tea unit.

South Korean Tea Association’s Chairman Dr Shawn S Jung on his last visit on 6th September 2022 at Jorhat, Assam had decided to capture the tea market of upper Assam since the country has high percentage of tea drinkers and is looking out for horizon like India to import tea varieties.

Nagaon Edges Beautification With Launch Of Three Parks

In the edge to enhance beauty of Nagaon a crucially economic district the State Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Ashok Singhal launched the renovated three parks which interestingly cost Rs. 4 crore that economically a good initiative by the BJP government.

One park was facelifted at Nagaon Baptist Church the Mahendra Nath Moi Heng Dang Dekaphukon Park. The other two parks were launched near Nehrubali field named as Pranab Boruah children Park and Natyapran Saroda Kanta Bordoloi Park. The ministers after the launch concluded for a meet at the Nagaon district library's auditorium to fulfill government's promise to distribute scooties to boost the 'sakhis.'
