Paper leaks and other malpractices virtually conducted through cyber space, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) decided to combat such threat by forming a cyber security committee with the empower of retired DIG of police.

HS exam which is to held soon on this 20^th February, where the AHSEC is on the attempt to restrain malignant act of hoax messages, fake question paper leakages and other disturbing factors with the help of cyber experts  to arrange fair exam for all students.

Assam 10 Plus 2 Education System On To A New Version

NEP (National Education Policy) has implemented a new education structure 5+3+3+4 that is to replace school’s 10 plus 2 system that is to commence for administrative purpose on 1^st January, 2022 before bringing into effect on 2022-23 academic session.

According to the nomenclature of the new education structure the foundational stage nursery (1+2) will be called ‘Buniyadi’ while (3+ 4 + 5) the preparatory stage will be named as ‘Prastuti’ while (6+7+8) the middle stage will be termed as ‘Madhyamik’ whereas (9+10+11+12) the secondary stage will be termed as ‘Uccha Madhyamik’.

‘Buniyadi’ and ‘Prastuti’ will be under Directorate of Elementary Education while ‘Madhyamik’ and ‘Uccha Madhyamik’ will be under Directorate of School Education.

AHSEC Final Year Appearing Students Gets A New Breath

Finally the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) final year exam scheduled on 1^st of October till 11^th November 2021 giving a new breath to the appearing students as COVID pandemic was causing uncertainity.

The AHSEC final year exams to be conducted in 51 centers across the state where the Assam government had evaluation session with the expert committee to highlight criteria for the appearing students on the basis of their past performances.

Under Pandemic Stress Cotton University Offering 25% Additional Seats

Cotton University site advertised 25% increase in admission to control seat crisis by the authority.

This topmost university of Assam has initiated 10% seats reservation for the economically weak students for the first time. This admission process of Guwahati’s Cotton University may continue for the month throughout of September.

Though universities are directed to start only the final year classes of undergraduate and postgraduate the technical institutions are given green signal to resume all classes.

Assam Education New SOP Flexes Out Offline Numbers

In a recent SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) by the Assam Government under Education department disclosed that as per to institute’s infrastructure can accommodate more than 30 norms figure under all rules and regulation for students above eighteen years.

Not necessarily double dose vaccine but offline students are must to undergo first dose . Offline classes that are to be conducted from 6^th September are the Higher Secondary final year, Degree 6^th sem and Post Graduate 4 sem as classes ti 11^th standard to remain closed offline where online classes to resume.

Health Matters, Assam Education Department To Take A Back Gear

Teachers will get the privilege to vaccinate but what about the numerous children, taking this matter into concern the Assam Education Department is hesitant on the decision of reopening of schools on 1^st September as decided by the state government along with Health Minister earlier .

 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is not ready to put risk on scheduling offline classes as most of the children are not vaccinated though the Health department has no issue on reopening of schools. Even the present situation of Assam is not encouraging as 500 infected cases exist which is not a minimal numbers.

Fresh SOP to be set across by the government and according to which the Education Department will abide. State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu to initiate talks with the All Assam Student’s Union including numerous indigenous organization concerned to come up with better decision to reform the education sector.

Offline classes to be started in phased manner observing COVID impact in the region from 1^st November after the grand Durga Puja festival as part of ‘Unlock 5’ initiative of the Central Government. According to Himanta Biswa Sarma the Assam CM to conduct a massive vaccination drive to include not only teachers but even students.

In addition as per to the new SOP the students prepared for offline classes should produce written permission from their parents.

Meghalaya’s School And Colleges Opening Still In The Mid Air

The decision of reopening of schools in Meghalaya is in the mid air as the High-Powered Committee (HPC) and the state Chief Minister Conard K Sangma has not yet come to a conclusion as Corona rate has remained the prior matter of concern.

According to Meghalaya Education Minister Lankmen Rymbui as of now only school visits will be allowed for the urban area students whereas in rural areas normal classes will be conducted for class VI to VIII students. In urban areas online classes for Class 1 to V students will remain continued.
