Sarbananda Sonowal To Get Wings For NE For Greater Economic And Tourist Inflow

After being an Union Minister for Port Sarbananda Sonowal targets big success in waterways development in North East as this region has rich resources to avail in domestic and global markets.

Union Minister stressed on Haldia port as it could transport oil products to Dhansiri easily. In this concern the Numaligarh refinery Limited has made an agreement with the Inland Waterways Authority of India for development and dredging Brahmaputra.

Sonowal the Union Minister stressed on the development of the National Waterways Number 2 that would boost NRL’s imports of heavy machineries from aboard as well as export of its products. Sonowal further stressed on cargo and passenger vessel’s movement apart from installing of eight modern jetties from Dhubri to Sadiya. Union Minister further emphasized that the State and the Central governments are making greater plans to utilize waterway potentialities of entire North east.
