Assam & Arunachal On Successive Resolve On Border Disputes

On the follow up of the Namsai Declaration by both the states’ Chief Minister had conducted survey on the disputed areas in Namsai district by the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh’s two Regional Committees under Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Atul Bora the Assam Border Protection and Development Minister.

This crucial visit is expected to resolve confusion on land disputes between two regions taking on to the statistic of the Regional Committee with the localities’ version on demographic account.

Assam Assembly Budget Session Comes Up With Crucial Bills

On the first day of the Budget Session the Finance Minister Ajanta Neog came up with crucial bills the Assam Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Amendment) Bill, 2022 to restructure the Assam Taxation (Liquidation of Arrear Dues) Act 2005 to clear long outstanding dues and Assam Taxation ( Liquidation of Arear Dues) (Amendment) Bill, 2022 to amend the Assam Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005..

In the Assembly other Bills introduced were like the Assam Borstal Institution (Repealing) Bill, 2022, Assam Children (Repealing) Bill, 2022, Guwahati Municipal Corporation ( Amendment) Bill, 2022 including Assam Municipal Corporation Bill, 2022, Assam Repealing Bill, 2022, Assam Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2022, Assam Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2022, Assam State Commission for Minorities (amendment) Bill, 2022 and Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022.

Assam Scientist Reckoned By Indian Patent Office For Prolonged Shelf-life Research

 

Copper fruit research acclaims recognition as the Indian Patent Office, Government of India credits Assam scientist Dr. Sanjib Kumar Paul with a patent titled ‘Copper (nanosized) – Chitosan- Menthol Edible Conglomerate Enrobe for Prolonged Shelf-life of Climacteric Fruit.’

According to Dr Paul the work was conceptualized after observing waste in fruits and vegetables due to lack in storage and food processing technology. This research is in the benefit of the food growers and distributors by extending shelf life of the vegetables and fruits for 28 days without harming the consumers. Coating parameters developed as per the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) according to Dr Paul.

Nagaland Demands Centre To Standardize Agro Education

Nagaland demands Centre to boost agro national or regional institutes all over the state at 25th regional committee meet of ICAR Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Y Kikheto Sema the Nagaland Agriculture Production Commissioner marked that the state has no such agricultural institutes to the standard of regional and national level as the region has highest potentiality to deliver excellent agriculture turnover. In respect the Nagaland Government has demanded a College of Agriculture under the Central Agricultural University at the State Agriculture Research Station in Mokokchung district at Yisemyong.

Manipurs’ Organic Success In Pune And Bengaluru Enriches Farmer’s Sale

Taking on to facebook, Manipur’s Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed the milestone after launching organic outlets at Pune and Bengaluru metros through virtual conferencing to boost Chak-Hao farmers’ production and Agri marketing companies.

In the first organic consignment about ten metric tons Manipur black rice named as Chakhao was exported to the two metro cities Bengaluru and Pune. It is in the focus to economically boost the horticulture and agro sectors the Chief Minister Biren Singh is stressing hard on farming product export. On pandemic phase this is the best initiative to keep farmer’s farming hope alive.

Assam River Dolphin’s Existence Receives Threat

Rare population of this peaceful water animal the Assam river dolphin is now under threat as poacher ventures to sell its meat in Dibrugarh at Kolakhuwa fish market that is in approximation Dihing river on 17th August.

 

The population of river Dolphin is already in scarcity and selling of meat would make this animal near to extinction. Apprehending the fact the Assam top cop, GP Singh stressed Dibrugarh, SP to take action against the Dolphin meat sellers.

Mizoram Serious On Outgrowing Organic Farming For Healthy State


Mizoram Agriculture Minister C Lalrinsanga in his new strategic attempt to escalate organic firming which was sidelined for long after its introduce has stressed the state government to collaborate with Central Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR) and Mizoram University to find out natural methodologies to fertilize the soil and improve crop productivity without making buyers to intake harmful chemicals based food.


Previously the Mizo National Front group of the state failed to implement the Organic Act effectively after its introduce in the agro system. But this time they are focused to set massive effort on natural farming without chemical fertilizer usage to deliver greater healthy crop food in the market. Lalrinsinga is determined to set up a biological control laboratory at Lengpui, Aizwal and introduce pests that naturally kills the harmful pests affecting human crops.

Flood Vs Cultivation Opens Up New Hope !

In entire India and Northeast region had witnessed flood devastation where the farming of  many had underwent  losses where the new technique floating seedbeds has been introduced to simplify challenges of the farmers to make their livelihood easier.


Unlike the land based farming where farmers had to depend too much on the quality of the soil now in this technique of cultivation have to simply use banana plants to make a huge raft that is layered on top with mud where next followed with layer of water hyacinth plants on top of it for proper seeding of crops. Saplings of various food crops and rice could be planted over it where the outcome result is favorably good.


If this floating seed bed farming is processed in all the flood affected areas where the farmers can keep their farming on float without the fear of getting submerged and make their livelihood easier when their land based crop soil is damaged due to silt layer decomposed by the river.

Can Project “APART”’ Bring Apart New Revolution In Framing Under Climatic Challenges?

Flood Devastating scenario was not only witnessed by Northeast but also by entire India in 2019 where in-order to take challenges against its adversities a new dynamic project has been undertaken by the Assam government known as Assam Agribusiness & Transformation Project (APART).


This APART project initiated by the Assam government is a huge investment project that has been carried with the aid of the World Bank with an amount of Rs. 1,700 crore to design farming in resilience to climatic challenges. But on the reality ground the entire matter is estimated to be quite costly with price tag of Rs. 1, 750 for per quintal boro paddy in against the present market value of Rs. 1, 350.


Farmers will get introduced to other survival techniques against flood like seed-cum-fertilizer drill, portable rice mill, super bags and solar bubble dryer including many so that it accomplishes the dream of the Agri department to achieve 67 lakhs metric tones rabi production by the year end. Manipur Introduces First Agro Quality Analysis Laboratory in Northeast


Manipur introduces First Agro Quality Analysis Laboratory in Northeast under the mission of integrated development of horticulture that is headed by the state horticulture department where Agriculture researchers will be for the first time able to get hand in experience in 50 advanced analytical instruments.


It was at Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Imphal division the First Agro based Quality Analysis Laboratory of Northeast was facelifted where the organization’s primary objective is to make huge quantity of food content analysis at a greater scale within short span.


Be it cereal, pulses, milk, meat or fish and others which are manufactured and supplied are now could be tested and certified for consumer use immediately when brought to the laboratory for analysis. Even new freshly launched food products will be tested to be certified for use and also will conduct training programs in the same complex to help youngsters in this field to adapt the skills.

Atul Bora Assam Agriculture Minister Sets For Dynamic Strategy To Retain Soil Quality Under Erosion Adversity


Changes of river water courses and unpredictable weather condition have taken extensive toll on the rich soil of Assam especially due to erosion intensity has intensified the job of the Agricultural department where the state Minister Atul Bora who is handling this matter has extended help from the states with good agro market strategy including foreign country Vietnam’s effective agro techniques to counteract situation under adversity.


Vietnam government has assured the State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora during his visit to the Asian nation. Promised to help in research and building effective strategy in association with Assam Agricultural University to evaluate the matter for effective outcome result by Vietnam.


Already AAU is processing ideas through close analysis on successful states in agro production and market positioning for greater productivity and economic leverage according to Atul Bora the Agriculture Minister of Assam.

Buffalo Challenge Peaks In NE And Rest Of India

Population of Buffalo seems to be decreasing in Northeast region of India due to varied reasons related to environment issues where in Nagaland state itself had encountered death reports of sixty animals due to fatal disease while Assam on the contradictory is losing its population due to derogatory environment.


Excluding Northeast region place like Chattisgarh has witnessed sharp fall in Buffalo population due to which its government has initiated pact of mutual understanding with Assam government to translocate female wild buffaloes to its Udantika forest for conservation and to generate its growng extinct population.

Meghalaya Fish Farmers Integrates To Build Strategy For Greater Economic Output!


Fish investment of 378 crore to target 15,000 metric tonnes supply deficit has been initiated in the second phase of 2019 by the Meghalaya State Aquaculture Mission (MSAM) after annual output of 12,000 MT as against 27,000 MT target.


According to Agricultural Production Commissioner K N Kumar Rs 378 crore investment is initiated to maximize fish production  to meet the demands in an outside the state market to benefit the existent 22,000 fish farmers of the Meghalaya.


During the address at the inaugural function of 2019  State Level Fish Farmers Conclave to the influential personalities in this arena, K N Kumar marked that it is high time the state initiates Meghalaya Fish Farmers Association to meet high end strategy and technology to boost the local farmers to  adapt new techniques and skills in fish farming, extend water reservoir for better fish breeding, quality fishseeds with sufficient production, latest scientific update feed apart from management skills to achieve higher revenue.

Mushroom Farming Could Be The Next Biggest Economic Hope For Meghalaya!

Another five years from now Meghalaya is planning to set the biggest mushroom production strategy with a Japanese company to garner greater economic benefits without much loss as the state has the ability to provide highest quality products in this lane of agro farming.


Meghalaya or any Northeast mushroom destination can be a great economic venture for east Asian countries as it cut cost air transportation expenses. According to the state’s Agriculture Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh the soil of Meghalaya has the capacity to reach 1000 metric tonnes of most demanding mushroom production known as Shiitake after five years.


If the Meghalaya farmers are made aware and trained to take this biggest opportunity to leverage Shiitake mushroom then within three to five years from now would help to boost mushroom market in the state as it fetches best price in international food market domain.


Japan’s Vats Corporation Co Ltd confirms benefits to the local framers of Meghalaya since the company is to buy the major output of  Shiitake mushroom from them as it has high demand in food and hotel industries worldwide. As per to the MoU pact with the government and the Japanese company Vats the local farmers will be provided with special training on it to avail them with target amount mushroom products.

Japan To Boost Mizoram’s Rich Bamboo Sources And Its Eco-system


More than half of Mizoram's land has bamboo forests with 30 plus species of it which are now under the threat of degrading eco-system where landslide in this hilly region is the primary matter of concern to which state’s Chief Minister Zoramthanga has initiated help from Japan experts to aid in larger bamboo productivity and retention of its eco-system.


Japan which faces the similar topographical challenges like Mizoram could help the state to come out of the major crisis of bamboo production and retention with share of effective ideas to tackle such situation with usage of advance technology to balance its eco-system in favor of green enviornment.


The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) which was in Mizoram to shower light on the new advance techno methodology for new road route extension in the state without causing much damage to the ecosystem of the  bamboo prone zones. JICA co-ordinate of official development assistance to the Japan government highlighted to extend help to Mizoram’s call to improve state’s agriculture and horticulture processing to garner greater productivity and improvement of soil.

Assam Paddy Field Quality Faces Human Threat!


Under Goalpara district of Assam the farmers had made a tie up with local brick industry businessman to allot their paddy field on a seasonal basis for brick making after the end of their cultivation which as a consequence has deteriorated the quality of the soil.


This allowance of brick making on paddy field for lease receives severe burns while digging the ground and burning coals to heat the freshly made bricks that leaves the former land quality deteriorated. The brick owners provide lakhs of brick production at cheaper rate in the local market with greater profit in comparative to their investment but the framers had to undergo greater loss as the soil become unfit for quality farming production.

Northeast’s First Green Campus University!


First time in northeast solar power project is assigned for a period under Solar Power company SECI (SOLAR Energy Corporation Of India) to a state university of Northeast where Tripura is privileged to be the one.


This mega solar power project is a major initiative of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) with support of SECI. Though Manipur and Tezpur university had installed solar power project beforehand Tripura but is not for an assigned duration.

Tripura’s this mega solar power plant initiative of 500-kilowatt peak (KWP) in Tripura University premise had been made in the attempt to build eco-friendly green campus environment.

Opium And Cannabis Drugging The Manipur System?


On a social responsibility account to make the system clean from the threats of Drug war lords the Manipur government is planning to help farmers to take better optional farming switching off from opium and cannabis cultivation.


Manipur drug base has become highly influential and has become a major threat to the society’s welfare where the opium farmers are the key setback in state’s war against drugs to prevent it from affecting rest of the regions outside the state. So the government aims to stop farmers from illicit opium and cannabis farming to opt alternative cultivation for better livelihood according to the state Chief Minister, N Biren Singh.


On the best interest of state’s welfare, N Biren Singh had placed best options for farmers like lemongrass and agar trees cultivation under alternative development (AD) state plan for better earning through cultivation.

Meghalaya's Geospatial Third Eye Harvest Programming


Advanced based geospatial Space Tech measure to reduce trial experiments in best expansion of Boro rice farming through satellite image and data survey techniques the Meghalaya authority has taken this initiative in its tough hilly terrains under the state’s Directorate of Agriculture that is headed by the North Eastern Space Applications Centre.


It is in the best advent to track easily the areas suitable for Boro rice expansion through geospatial data information by satellite tracking and analysis with best  remote sensing Geographic Information modern tools the Agri department has taken this initiative with government’s assistance.


Under this Geographic Information Systems’ technologies for remote sensing includes varied parameters about soil, ground and climate to skip extensive field trial stages to save time and money effort in growing and expanding seasonal cultivation of Boro rice.
