Globally Assamese traditional costumes which have found new outlet in fashion domain to feed the innovative trendy circuit with items like Mekhala Chadar, Muka (top Design), Gujima (Menswear top), Luguru Chiba Baiga ( wrapon design based lady's lower garment), Pini (ladies garment) and Pe-Cheleng.
But rarely few are aware about the imaginative impression over the traditional costumes woven by the local weavers of Assam. Handloom practice traditionally runs down from female expertise who in their spare time use to create drawn from their surroundings to entertain their loved ones. More than nature inspired designs women used to follow design concept from household items and these motifs were passed from generation after generation that later became cultural representation.
