their interest by engaging them on alternative stuffs never thought
about to help them start discovering on a more detail stuff.
Directly enable them to get interact with its indigenous tribes to know the truth of its various art techniques.
Meghalaya’s strength lies in fashion and textile industry due to magnificent
handloom work, traditional method of crafting pattern and unique color
combination of its weavers.
Moreover Shillong is to launch
its state’s first National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at
Mawdiangdiang to boost tourists who are on outlook of indigenous touch on
Meghalaya’s fashion industry which creative bundle of designers are doing great
jobs worldwide winning prestigious laurels to the land.
In this mission the Integrated
Textiles Tourism Complex (IITC) is to play a pivotal role in boosting
alternative tourism by arranging mediums for various creative artists to
promote the rich culture and tradition of the land through their art and crafts.
