Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in a recent address
to excited Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha or tea laborer community of Assam stated
about issuance of bank account for fresh applicants from 5th
December, 2016.
This opening of bank accounts for all tea
laborers was taken in the best interest to tackle demonetization phase after a
couple of sessions with tea garden association, bankers and Assam Chah Mazdoor
Sangha.
Realizing Assam’s economy and government’s major
vote depends on tea laborers, so this bank account initiative has been taken by
state authority to assist financial support to them at such cashless phase.
