According to the speculation of Mowsam Hazarika, Assistant
Director Of Agriculture (Crop Insurance And Horticulture) this scheme benefit
will be provided to 5.5 Lakh farmers of Assam under 2016-2017 Fasal Bima Yojana
plan.
Under 2016 scheme crops like wheat, sugarcane, potato, rapeseed,
mustard seed and others will be covered that are ideal for Assam soil in
winter. Moreover such crops are less initiated in eastern region particularly,
may be for a change the government wants to witness the outcome of this new
emphasis.
Before this scheme is roll out effectively, special training
will be provided to the officials of Assam Agricultural Department and bring effective
awareness program on this scheme that will be highlighted through various media
promos.
