Buffalo Challenge Peaks In NE And Rest Of India

Population of Buffalo seems to be decreasing in Northeast region of India due to varied reasons related to environment issues where in Nagaland state itself had encountered death reports of sixty animals due to fatal disease while Assam on the contradictory is losing its population due to derogatory environment.


Excluding Northeast region place like Chattisgarh has witnessed sharp fall in Buffalo population due to which its government has initiated pact of mutual understanding with Assam government to translocate female wild buffaloes to its Udantika forest for conservation and to generate its growng extinct population.
