Opium And Cannabis Drugging The Manipur System?


On a social responsibility account to make the system clean from the threats of Drug war lords the Manipur government is planning to help farmers to take better optional farming switching off from opium and cannabis cultivation.


Manipur drug base has become highly influential and has become a major threat to the society’s welfare where the opium farmers are the key setback in state’s war against drugs to prevent it from affecting rest of the regions outside the state. So the government aims to stop farmers from illicit opium and cannabis farming to opt alternative cultivation for better livelihood according to the state Chief Minister, N Biren Singh.


On the best interest of state’s welfare, N Biren Singh had placed best options for farmers like lemongrass and agar trees cultivation under alternative development (AD) state plan for better earning through cultivation.
