Flood Devastating scenario was not only witnessed by Northeast but also by entire India in 2019 where in-order to take challenges against its adversities a new dynamic project has been undertaken by the Assam government known as Assam Agribusiness & Transformation Project (APART).
This APART project initiated by the Assam government is a huge investment project that has been carried with the aid of the World Bank with an amount of Rs. 1,700 crore to design farming in resilience to climatic challenges. But on the reality ground the entire matter is estimated to be quite costly with price tag of Rs. 1, 750 for per quintal boro paddy in against the present market value of Rs. 1, 350.
Farmers will get introduced to other survival techniques against flood like seed-cum-fertilizer drill, portable rice mill, super bags and solar bubble dryer including many so that it accomplishes the dream of the Agri department to achieve 67 lakhs metric tones rabi production by the year end. Time will tell whether APART projects implemented in Assam sets apart a new revolution in Agri domain since nature is unpredictable.
