Assam Ferries Goes Overloaded Defying Safety Laws As Small Machine Boat Service Comes To A Major Halt

Few small machine boats or bhoot bhutis are seen to ply now on Brahmaputra as per to the state’s new law after Ashwaklanta tragic mishap where implemented few big size ferries remains overly crowded against the safety law measure in Guwhati, Assam.

Present scenario of network through Brahmaputra in Guwahati is that a ferry of 150 load capacity is carrying 290 load plus and 300 capacity is carrying 400 plus load with additional loads of goods and vehicles which has become a threat to the passenger. The people are in the demand of more ferries for better safety and faster service. So that every half an hour if a ferry service is provided then people can meet less risk rather than plying on a loaded one and can reach destination without much wastage of time.

People are happy that the government has shown greater initiative by implementing big size ferries instead of small boat from 15th September. But as per to the growing demands of the people it has become more important to implement more such water vessels. Plus speedy implementation of double engine boats as against single ones that had been promised by the government after the Ashwaklanta boat tragedy is demanded under the present pathetic condition of limited service on water route.

North Guwahati could be linked to the main Guwahati city via river in fastest manner. To seek emergency help for patients, to meet office time deadline and reach school in time which earlier people had managed with much risk by travelling on unsafe bhoot bhuti or engine device small ferry but after the imposition of the new law on water vessel service after the Ashwaklanta boat tragedy have changed things dramatically for the commuters.

Oscar Ad Or Film Award 2018 Will Have The Chance To Grace Assam?

The dream is big but this small attempt by Assam's creative people for the first time in state’s history can create a landmark by winning the prestigious title at the 91st Academy awards 2018 is a big question as these are the only two contenders from India this year

It is indeed a big question which is keeping everyone tight lipped before blowing out anything confident though the attempt may seem to be small but there at the global front in Oscar Awards there is a sea of challenges.

Anyway it is a pride that the creative people of Assam have made India proud by making entries twice at the Oscar Awards which is a great honor as it highlights Northeast’s potentialities in the near future at creative domain.

This three minutes and 31 seconds Assam tourism ad which showcases Bollywood and Hollywood siren Priyanka draped in traditional Assamese attire Mekhala Chador at the backdrop of scenic beauty of the state had been successful in making an entry at Ad Films category in Oscar 2018.

The next big consecutive thing to surprise Assam in creative category is the 2018 national award winner ‘Village Rockstar’ which made powerful entry in Oscar 2018 awards in United States at Best Foreign Language Film category. The big question is that will Rima Das the filmmaker of Village Rockstar who had swift past against the strong contenders of Bollywood domain like Raazi and Padmavaat in an effortless manner accomplish the ‘Mission Impossible’ by wining the Oscar title as female contender from India in film category?

Are Assam Banks Safe After 94.42 Crore Swipe Through Hack From India’s Second Largest Bank?

Consecutive numbers of time in a day Assam Banks must have come under the expert hacker’s troll on their poor security system where till date more than 20 cases have been registered in Guwahati police stations about money siphon but are they ready to defend where in another massive case of hacking about  94.42 crore was clean swiped from the second oldest and largest cooperative bank (in terms of deposit advances) the Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd., Maharashtra?

Hardest point in catching these virtual criminals or hackers is that they are not directly related in making a bank customer a scapegoat. It is a second party who ape as bank manager, office staff and friend at the most targeted areas with multiple ATMs and get away with their sixteen digits numbers.

The attitude of second party is almost like marketing agents who without getting off with handsome money and detailed information do leave their clients. Somewhere they must be getting professional course in duping people with ATM details and card just like hackers to make a successful team to earn their bread and butter. Cyber crime is a direct threat of unemployment for how these people can have such sophisticated education and extreme intelligence – not that they just love to steal else they could have settled for pick pocketing and why to strain one’s head.

To confront such war path of such ill education implementation then the bank customers can pursuit one option to further educate themselves to restrain from being fooled by such preying eyes while operating ATM and online banking. But how? It is best Bank staff and cyber team can help them in educating with more interaction.

Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd. after a drastic loss due to virtual loot had implemented a professional forensic agency to investigate on August 11 and August 13 case where even the state police along with Pune cyber police task force were engaged. After a close survey on vast transactions process in between the theft time  to understand criminal’s game set, located 12000 fraudulent visa transaction cases that were carried out in multiple nations worldwide.

AASU Resolves To Settle Jorbat NH-37 Flood Criteria With Ri Bhoi Student Union

AASU in reaction to erratic earth cutting In Ri BHoi Hills that is leading to abrupt flush of muddy water from the high sloppy zones into the nearby areas of Jorabat encompassing its NH-37 commercial link to Northeast, causing quick flood with no notice of heavy downpour, regulation on such environmental act will be implemented soon in association with the Khasi Students Union.

It is not a matter of public loss of properties but also a big concern to rising accounts of serious accidents and abruption in travelling, leaving frequently normal life out of gear and impacting severely on state economy due to its bowl type geographic condition where waters from the surrounding hills of Ri Bhoi area of Meghalaya state caves in the NH-37 with muddy water.

The AASU student body of Assam  has determined to settle the matter with state’s metro deputy commissioner or legal action against the irregular earth cutting process in Ri Bhoi hills and to probe further into the  faulty layouts of Jorabat flyover  construction when first essayed in 2007 for its implementation. According to the public complain the set up of NH-37 flyover has major faults due to which the flood water level has trigged abnormally.

Even the layouts of narrow drainage system of six feet is not enough to soak out fast excessive hills’ water, arrangements of 20-22 feet drainage system is currently required to control extreme water log. AASU estimates major water logging criteria in Jorabat could be fast controlled if the earth cutting in Ri Bhoi area is controlled by implementing regulation on hills cutting by working out with neighboring state’s Khasi student body.
