Seven days 'Atri Rudra Mahayagya' in dedication to powerful Hindu lord Shiva was conducted on the outskirt of the main Guwahati city in Amingaon, North Guwahati to observe world peace for the first time in Assam.
Such event in Assam has been conducted for the first time in the state out of the traditional clause because of numerous ongoing affliction due to varied reasons. Usually such traditional values are observed down the south of India.
This is a rigorous and big sacred event where hundred plus priests sit to conduct the yagna successfully. Even cows are specially hired and sheds for the animals are built inside the huge yagna premise to feed the priests apart from the arrangement of other food items.
Holy chants of vedas ritually performed from morning to evening hours to drive out evil and to drive in positive energy for peace, prosperity and happiness. Lots of people from varied parts of India attended this pious yagna to take the sacred blessings from the priests.
