The
dream is big but this small attempt by Assam's creative people for the first time
in state’s history can create a landmark by winning the prestigious title at the 91st Academy awards 2018 is a big question as these are the only two contenders from India this year .
It
is indeed a big question which is keeping everyone tight lipped before blowing
out anything confident though the attempt may seem to be small but there at the
global front in Oscar Awards there is a sea of challenges.
Anyway
it is a pride that the creative people of Assam have made India proud by making
entries twice at the Oscar Awards which is a great honor as it highlights Northeast’s potentialities
in the near future at creative domain.
2018
Priyanka Chopra's landmark ad performance to promote Assam's culture and tourism by draping in rare golden silk Muga had claimed a position in nomination rounds like
Best Oscar Original music and Best Direction and Best Cinematography.
This
three minutes and 31 seconds Assam tourism ad which showcases Bollywood and Hollywood
siren Priyanka draped in traditional Assamese attire Mekhala Chador at the
backdrop of scenic beauty of the state had been successful in making an entry
at Ad Films category in Oscar 2018.
The
next big consecutive thing to surprise Assam in creative category is the 2018 national
award winner ‘Village Rockstar’ which made powerful entry in Oscar 2018 awards in United States at Best Foreign Language Film category. The big question
is that will Rima Das the filmmaker of Village Rockstar who had swift past against the
strong contenders of Bollywood domain like Raazi and Padmavaat in an effortless manner accomplish the ‘Mission Impossible’ by wining the Oscar title as female contender from India in film category?
