Nagaland Can Be A Great Inspiration To Northeast Women’s Future

Safety of Northeast women in and outside of its own region is of great concern where extensive travelling counts on irregular time period basis, reflecting this the Nagalnd authority has become the first to take a bold initiative in India by deploying ‘Pink Bus Service’ for safe women travel.

In this noble mission the Nagaland government has taken a challenging measure to avoid infringement of women modesty issues this ‘ Pink Bus Service’ has been conducted along with the normal commercial transport services in the state.

Especially targeted areas commercial prone areas like Dimapur and Kohima have  greater potentiality of women crime in the future due to which the pink service has been implemented in greater advance with deploy of five buses from urban development department where nine more on the pipeline after the initial success.

Currently the Nagaland authority has flagged off four new branded “Pink Buses” to mark the occasion for women’s safety where many more from (JNNURM) Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission will be plied after a revamp of each unused old model. After a long discontinuation of intercity bus service now Nagalnd is planning to reinvent bus transportation services for quality ride and better route networking. It’s been 15 years long since that Nagaland has again resumed intercity bus services and hope this time it will create great influence in entire Northeast.
