Assam Hands Book To Submit Itself As Literate State

Only few from India has made attempt to declare themselves as literate states with highest score of educated population where Assam is emerging to be named as one.

To give dimension to higher literacy rate in Assam the government has intiated to hand books on those capable wanting to extend to 9 and 10 grade.

Free textbooks will be provided to each government-funded schools in new academic year of 2017-18.

This new scheme will be implemented in all government/provicialised (government funded) institutes relating to high schools, higher secondary schools,local body schools, model schools (under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA), tea garden schools including non-provincialised schools finacially supported by the state.

Secondary Education Department declared that supply of required free texts for 9 and 10 grade students will be made by the Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited.

Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills Facelift Depends On Release Of Rs 800 crore

As a new lease of life to paper employees who were drained out of hope of revival two paper mills, the State Industries Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary made final clearance that Rs 800-crore revival package for Nagaon and Cachar paper mills' facelift will be released after the amount is passed to Prime Minister’s Office.

The proposal of this fund was earlier drafted by the Ministry of Heavy Industries and is to be finalized before the Cabinet note produced at Prime Minister’s Office. After which the Union Cabinet will make final clearance for circulation of the fund once after Prime Minister Narender Modi sanctions it.

According to Patowary the operational paper mill of Nagaon will get monthly release of Rs 30 corer after Centre sanctions the fund and simultaneously will be aided partially with State Government's funds.

In this strict probe by CBI even one office employee was suspended.

Incidents of seven deaths and paddy field rampage relating to elephant in different cases have moved Assam Government as it has become a major concern for public welfare and wildlife security.

To the fresh death cases of three elephants, the State Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma had to intervene with Railway authority for not showing precautionary measures to avert such wildlife mishap.

This Wildlife tragedy of three elephant deaths at Jogijan in Hojai due to goods train ramp while the animals were passing through the track, accounts that two were detected as pregnant females. This is a major setback to Assam Wildlife in respect to which Brahma strictly criticized on Railway department's failure to implement high tech thermal sensors on rail tracks for track advance detection.

According to Forest Minister they had asked for Railway authority's co-operation to regulate20 km speed limit in identified forest areas and initiate precautionary steps for earlier detection of moving objects on track but they failed to observe wildlife security measure.
