Konkona Sen Sharma accredited as Indian film’s
most talented actress had did a great favour by placing Assamese tune of
Rajdweep Dey’s creation for her ‘NYIFF2017 Best Director Award Winning Film’
-‘A Death in the Gunj.’
People in Assam, Northeast must be quite
familiar with Rajdweep’s musical creation who has done couple of songs with noted
singer Papon Mahanta has proven to be quite lucky for Konkona’s debut venture
as director in film category.
2017 has been favourable for Konkona’s film
career as she has won to her credit another prestigious award that is Best
Actress at New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) for ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha.’
‘A Death in the Gunj’s only featured four
minutes song the music director Desai praised Rajdweep’s talent by stating, “I loved the sound of the
words.”
This song of Rajdweep which incite hope was beautifully voiced by noted folk singer Pramila Pradhan in the film but was initially built for MTV Assamese song that was sung by Papon.
Best part is that in this limelight of
Konkona even Rajdweep was able to fetch recognition apart from his popularity
as a journalist, film critic, script writer and music composer.
