Matters have
far gone beyond to do welfare for the society in unique way which many Manipur
has inspired Northeast and India by exceeding over Gujarat's 1,700 figure to
secure world’s biggest camp for ear aid to 6,464 patients.
To create this world record, Manipur had to choose capital
Imphal's Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium to draw in 6,464 patients for aid
treatments on various issues. Every ear ailment identified patients were
provided with personal identity cards as a mark of registration to such unique
welfare activity by the Manipur government.
It is just a small proportion of patients with ear problem
from Manipur's 2 crore population were privileged with such health welfare
programme which is a part of part of the Centre’s Samajik Adhikarita Shivir and
Distribution of Aids and Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities. The
Union Minister pf Manipur in observation to this biggest noble achievement
marked distribution of more hearing aids to 6 lakh children across the nation
in the future.
To materialize this world record various organizations
collaborated like National Health Mission, Manipur, Artificial Limbs
Manufacturing Corporation of India, The Programme for Prevention and Control of
Deafness including Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to distribute
hearing aids worth Rs 6.50 corer. To witness the entire countdown about
patient's participation there were 400 plus volunteers and 36 cameras but
without entry of Guinness officials to Manipur missed from Guinness Book of
World Records. But London's Guinness World Records office have the live footage
of the welfare event in Manipur and people's activity.
