As a new lease of life to paper employees who were drained out of hope of
revival two paper mills, the State Industries Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary
made final clearance that Rs 800-crore revival package for Nagaon and Cachar
paper mills' facelift will be released after the amount is passed to Prime
Minister’s Office.
The proposal of this fund was earlier drafted by the Ministry of Heavy
Industries and is to be finalized before the Cabinet note produced at Prime Minister’s
Office. After which the Union Cabinet will make final clearance for circulation
of the fund once after Prime Minister Narender Modi sanctions it.
According to Patowary the operational paper mill of Nagaon will get monthly
release of Rs 30 corer after Centre sanctions the fund and simultaneously will
be aided partially with State Government's funds.
