SpiceJet airline no doubt has strong inflow
of Northeast employees but it is likely to take off their strategy in this
eastern zone with greater outlook where even Assam Tourism will be benefited.
Under Centre's initiative 'Act East',
SpiceJet has taken a bold measure to set up major training institutes in
Northeast, enhance Southeast Asia network with Thailand and Myanmar, boost infrastructure
projects and professional groom up centers if Assam Government complies like
Kolkata to minimize aviation fuel sales tax.
According to Ajay Singh, SpiceJet Chairman
and Managing Director of budget carrier the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi (LGB)
International Airport of Guwahati can be staged as airline hub of Northeast if
this trilateral highway connectivity materialize with state government's
assistance.
Moreover
this air connectivity strategy in Northeast by SpiceJet can directly boost
tourism growth as it has potential captivating scenic backdrop.
