Assam Hands Book To Submit Itself As Literate State


Only few from India has made attempt to declare themselves as literate states with highest score of educated population where Assam is emerging to be named as one.


To give dimension to higher literacy rate in Assam the government has intiated to hand books on those capable wanting to extend to 9 and 10 grade.

Free textbooks will be provided to each government-funded schools in new academic year of 2017-18.


This new scheme will be implemented in all government/provicialised (government funded) institutes relating to high schools, higher secondary schools,local body schools, model schools (under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA), tea garden schools including non-provincialised schools finacially supported by the state.



Secondary Education Department declared that supply of required free texts for 9 and 10 grade students will be made by the Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited.
