Nalbari, Lower Assam All In Praise For The DC And Troops' Prompt Action That Saved Two Villages

First time lower Assam witnessed how a DC’s prompt action with army aid had saved many lives when suddenly the unexpected Pagladia river course took to dangerous form by overflowing into Chengnoi river and devastated two villages of Nalbari district but before that the villagers were evacuated on time in the early hour of the day.

The army made fast shift of the villagers to the safer places in the relief camp and higher land such that the dangerously speeding Chengnoi river water do not cause extreme damage to lives. The villagers were thankful to Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury the Nalbari DC’s prompt action by sending the army on time for evacuation else would have swept many lives of  Ratanpur village.

Bhutan water release had extremely swollen many rivers that took to danger level and kept Chatalbari and Ratanpur villages submerged in its water for 15 days and covered the paddy fields with high level silt, making the land unfit for cultivation.

The government need to intervene fast to provide proper livelihood to the people who had lost their means of living as many had left jobless without a paddy field. Now these people need to be diversified in such skills through which they can make earnings as they cannot rely on temporary external food supplement sources under relief fund.
