Globally esteemed rare and unique
species of Kaziranga National Park are painfully under the jeopardy of extinction
due to intense flood in Assam where India’s national pride the unique one horn rhino has
sized down in its figures from last years’ account.
On a drastic note today 40% of Kaziranga’s 430 Square km area is submerged under the
rising water of flood where in this phase there is no alternative highway for animals to flee for safety and thus hits the life
threatening highway road.
Lack of skilled forest manpower is
the biggest setback today for Kaziranga Park where from Karbi Anglong park the officials
are switched to this UNESCO Heritage site for regulation of animal movements and
speed track of highway vehicles. But performance of additional manpower in
Kaziranga is not upto expectation with four hog deer listed dead within three
days.
