Important places of Guwahati like Anil Nagar, Rukminigaon and Hatigaon today forms like artificial lake even after twenty minutes rain as all water outlets opened towards these areas so that water pools for duration keeping rest areas dry.
Government municipal people planning to elevate the roads of these areas without thinking of removing the human made blocks at Dispur, supermarket area is quite headless to defend residential people’s interest. Five hours later the rain water in Anil Nagar, Rukminigaon and Hatigaon areas continues to rise.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made lots of investment in embankments building for villages but sitting at his own home in Dispur area undermines crucial issues of the metropolitan city.
Previously Rukminigaon area did not face artificial lake like situation, it is just one year back artificial flooding of water in the entire area has taken place. It takes less than five minutes for the external water to flood in houses knee deep. Today people forced to move out from shops and houses in Rukmingaon and have curses for the Chief Minister Himanta and the BJP government due to the repeated loss. People unable to move out their valuable belongings within short span of flood have today the stories of tears that go unattended by the government.
