digital India has commenced wi-fi operation from state’s twin towns to enable
free and secure wireless internet connectivity.
Education
centres like Itanagar’s government college and Naharlagun’s Dera Natung
Government College, first time the Department of Information Technology and
Communication of Arunachal enabled it as wi-fi hot spots of the state.
Provision
of wifi connectivity to education sectors was conceptualized in the attempt of fast
information and quality data accessibility to the students. These zones have
been emphasized for wifi connectivity to create similar environment like in any
premier technical institutes of India. Free wifi accessibility in colleges
ensures better connectivity with teachers and students to ease out complicity
in study and research process.
According
to Khandu after this initial step into wifi connectivity the State Government will
take similar measure in remote areas to maintain transparency in government
policies and programmes. So that elaborated matter is much simplified to the
remote people’s comprehension in the respective sector through free wifi access
and to aid them in garnering more information.
This
Rs 10 lakh project for wifi accessibility in the state includes facility of 15
access points in 50 to 70 m radius area with additional security measures to
keep spamming, unwanted phishing and malware sites at bay according to Sonam
Chombay Secretary to Information Technology department.
