World Water Day Was Observed But Will it Save Future Guwahati?

On 22nd March World Water Day was observed where ground water conservation and serious matter relating to its contamination was stressed but looking at growing pace of building layouts in Guwahati water criteria can become highly critical.

Presently total extraction against total groundwater available for extraction is around 57 % which is now categorized as safe by the CGWB (Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) but if no remedial measures are taken then Guwahati can be soon categorized a semi-critical if it crosses 70% mark. If matters of water shortage in the city not focused then this may pose serious threat in the future. Commercial ground water extraction activities is a grave concern and suggested should be shifted to the rural areas by CGWB. Percolation of rainwater into the subsurface has been extensively prevented by growing matter of concretization.

Good News For Rhinos And Assam Wildlife!

As Kaziranga national wildlife park struggles to take control of death of rhinos due to increase poaching on the other hand Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary of Assam has a good news to spread with surge in one horn rhino count as per to the Rhino Population Census 2022 report derived from its nine blocks which showed figure of 107 animals with 27 calves, 30 males and 50 females.

Tap On Property Tax Defaulters By GMC

2,41,483 property tax defaulters to be under the tap of the GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) as it all set for revenue collection drive and ready to collect pending dues where several initiatives have been undertaken.

The Common Service Centres (CSCs) to initiate as ‘digital army’ in this GMC drive of revenue collection from its various centres bases located in the city. A door to door campaign by GMC will be conducted in the city in addition to banner display initiative in the CSC centers to help create awareness among tax payers.

Crime Rate In Assam Statistically Has Gone Down By 30% CM Himanta

Robotic Reform In Assam Tea Production

 

Robotic reform in tea production by the 180 year old tea industry of Assam to confront labour maintenance and peak price the technique of AI (Artificial Intelligence) to pluck selective tea leaves effectively within less time frame to be implemented.

Assam Witness High Turnout In Civic Polls

Dergaon, Sivsagar, Bongaigaon, Nagaon, Dubri, Doomdooma, Jamugurighat and Dhubri of Assam witnessed highest turnout of voters in municipal elections.

There was a strong participation of voters with 76.04% in Manipur’s final phase poll with much controlled situation with less violence and maintenance of COVID protocol in 22 constituencies spread across six districts.

Assam, Jorhat DC Advances Flood Preparedness

To gear up for the nearing monsoon Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman reviewed on the preparedness on possible flood with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to undertake situation during the call of emergency.
