Himanta Biswas's Contagious Impact Education Policy

After the emerge of BJP party as the new ruling government of Assam, Himanta Biswas the education minister has taken effective initiative through free education scheme to spread education faster to the poor sector so that state’s future do not remain only to the privileged class only. It has been witnessed that students from economically deprived families have emerged with more top ranks this year. It is good to give meritorious their part of share instead of keeping them in lurk of financial crunch.

If the government cares for the members of the family who have the capability to play a crucial role in directing a state, nation and world then none can stop in the development process. But first effective steps have to be taken without infringing partiality on particular group for everyone have to undertake their future responsibilities. Let's not anyone be barred from their role to perform and present better, irrespective of high low and middle class.

Free education scheme is an encouraging step where below Rs 1 lakh income family's children with meritorious quality can get enrolled in higher secondary, degree and Polytechnic diploma courses. But this scheme of free education will fall under those categories of institutions which are government based or govt affiliated not including the private sector.

This scheme will undoubtedly prove to be very effective in the future as it is prone to get contagious with other states of Northeast after Assam. It is a matter of great concern and pride for Assam to initiate such scheme by the Education Minister of the state, Himanta Biswa who added, "Assam is the first state in India to make higher education free for poor students. There will be absolutely no fee."

Only 310 government and provincial colleges will be initiated with this free education scheme. Authority is granted to the principal and the admission committee of the institute to include meritorious student under this scheme if provided with evidences that follow particular criteria.

It is  a grand measure where students have to undergo through certain formalities like produce of salary slips for state and central government staff, Proof of income by circle officer of 'mauzadar' and Employer's certificate for private sector worker. These documents should be produced as more than 60,000 students will be enabled to get exposure to education through this scheme. To make this plan successful extra Rs 70 crore benefits will be provided for the first year and slowly in the coming years it will be increased.
