On a recent address at the North Eastern Hill University
(NEHU) auditorium during SBI SC/ST Employees Association (SEWA) conference by the Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma had highlighted that the banks should
empower locals with first preference for jobs in its rural branches.
CM Conrad made this crucial remark as it is a responsibility
on the counterpart of the leading national bank SBI to shower their
contribution towards the region’s indigenous people with job empowerment.
Currently SBI to its credit has SC/ST
category work force of 42 per cent in entire Northeast that can extend its parameters with input of more
employees in its financial domain.
