Meghalaya’s Power Restoration Expense Crosses Height


Recent follow up of cyclonic storm has not only impacted on the livelihood of its people but to entire state’s power connectivity layout and hence intensified the job of its power department plus its restoration expenses.


In many parts of the state there are reports of huge damage to electric infrastructures where the assessment of losses is yet to gain as many remote areas are still remaining disconnected due to ravage of storm?  


Many places of Meghalaya left disconnected due to uprooted trees and infrastructures. Places that were badly hit by cyclonic storm that left many places of Mehalaya disconnected are South West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi and West Garo Hills though state’s electricity department (MePDCL) is speeding up its restoration job.
