Assam Witness Highest Turnover Of Voters On 2nd Phase

On the second phase of polling the total turn out of voters exceeded the figures from the initial phase of polling on 11^th April even under the adversities of weather conditions.

Previously from the five constituencies like Dibrugarh, Kaliabor, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Tezpur the polling which was initiated on 11^th April had recorded total turnout of voters of about 78 % plus figures. 

But on the second phase due to cyclonic weather condition when lesser turnout was expected had defied all estimation to supersede the previous record with near turnover of 80% with strong women’s participation.
