At the time of poll pressure when
the Meghalaya government had to additionally shoulder all general affairs feels
the cyclonic pressure has intensified their job by leaving 1 0,200 plus families
shelterless with trail of other losses.
Reports of death and injury figures are still not clear as mostly the remote areas of Meghalaya came under seasonal
dry weather cause of severe cyclonic impact. More than 700 villages of Meghalaya were left disconnected
as network service and road communication were left disrupted due to intense
damages by frequent speeding cyclones.
Meghalaya’s Minister in-charge
Revenue & Disaster Management department, Kyrmen Shylla is speeding up all
efforts with all higher officials by dissolving matters on quick restoration of
the situation to ensure normal function ahead of next poll phase.
