truth of damaged horns in Tezpur treasury after the following revelation of
possessing world second largest rhino horn in Nagaon district.
The
twelve members Rhino Horn Verification Committee in their next move on to
Tezpur Treasury after completion 39 boxes inspection containing 1,195 rhino
horns in the Golaghat Treasury, unearthed the ugly truth that turned out as per
to the forest official’s strong affirmation of such case with installation of
replica in the treasuries at DY 365, news TV channel’s interview session with
the chief editor more than two months back.
If
not for the urge of this forest official to set for inspection then never it
would have been revealed that at the heart of Assam consisted world second
largest rhino horn which weighs 3.051 Kilogram and stretches breadth wise to 60
cm at base and lengthwise 45cm.
In

specific mention of sources from where it was derived and at what condition.

expected and better transparency and guidelines of protecting national property
would have been made. As till yet complete database had been recovered from
Golaghat treasury only where Tezpur, Jorhat, Diphu, Nagaon, Morigaon including
Pobitora treasuries are still remaining.
This
rhino horn treasury verification operation shouldered by experts from in and

cases in the treasuries to deceive the authority.
