Amazon one of the top multinational e-commerce companies percepts NE (Northeast) to be a lucrative market to build a strong chain with marketers and
consumers to outgrow its turnover from this region.
Quite encouraged by NE’s contribution in its annual
turnover growth of 4%, Amazon likely to include 400 plus entrepreneurs from NE. Noor Patel, Amazon India, Director (category Management)
mentioned, ”We have provided a platform to over 400 entrepreneurs in the
North-east, but in view of the rising demand for the Northeast products.”
Currently
Amazon has experienced that there is a strong demand for NE products through
their online services. Products like tea, handloom, handicrafts and food
products of NE have strong demand. The e-commerce company is quite interested to go forward for NE ethnic products
display at its site with growing customer’s response.
Positive on NE venture, Patel added that it is expected
to appear as a promising market for e-commerce sector.
