In the attempt to drive in entertainment moghuls of Bollywood and rest film industries to focus on
Meghalaya’s unmatched scenic beauty for film shooting, Chief Minister Mukul
Sangma stressed on making special arrangements for them recently at film meet
in its capital city.
Highlighting at Meghalaya's favourable film location opportunities
during the inauguration of three-day Indian Panorama Film Festival at U Soso
Tham Auditorium in Shillong, Sangama revealed his view for cost effective film
shoot ventures to filmmakers.
Meghalaya comparatively with other hill stations like
Ooty, Darjelling, Khandala, Simla is quite developed and has all the necessary
requirements to facilitate big filmmakers to venture for film projects in the
state.
Highlighting growing challenges of filmmakers to extend
shoots in abroad, encouraged for home venture at similar favourable spots like
in Meghalaya with assured security arrangements, Sangama added, “The Government
will provide all safety and security measures to the shooting crew here.”
Sangma on to a promising note added that the state
government is planning to boost filmmakers to conduct shooting with ease by
establishing sound film infrastructures. Emphasizing the young generation involved in art and
music, Sangama highlighted that on Independence Day on 15 August, two Centres of
Excellence for Music will be launched in Tura and Shillong divisions of
Meghalaya. “Provide a platform for the young musicians in the State to hone
their talents,” boosted Sangama to the young spirits of Meghalaya.
