Assam’s Top Dairy Firm Purabi Felicitates Female Farmers as Recognition of Women Power

In the domain of dairy, female workers are fairly recognized for their contribution but this time Purabi Milk Day or Annual Milk Day which was observed by the West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL) felicitated three ladies.


On this occasion Purabi Milk Day celebration three best female dairy farmers named as Radhika Chetri (Chandrapur), Madhu Devi (Lumding) and Ayecha Bibi (Hajo) were awarded with cash prizes. Inclusive of them the milk union felicitated two remote-based mobile AI technicians for their dedicated service to the dairy farmers at their doorsteps.


It is a gigantic task of this dairy firm to procure daily milk of 32,650 liters from 176 MPIs (village-based functional milk producer institutions) including 4,650 dairy farmers from six dairy cooperative societies based in Kamrup, Nagaon, Barpeta, Morigaon and Nalbari districts of Assam. Currently Purabi has installed 11,000 liters bulk milk cooler in its remote centers based in Barpeta and Morigaon districts with soon installation in its Nagaon district site to regulate its storage quality before dispersing the products to the Directorate of Dairy Development of Khanapara division, Guwahati.
