Upper And Lower Assam To Connect Delinked Areas Over River Surfaces


To shrink traffic tension and accident perils the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued Rs 1,26,000 crore for development of links via land and water surfaces in upper Assam like Jorhat to Majuli, Lakhimpur to Majuli and Dhakuakhana to Sivasagar where in lower Assam remote areas like Phulbari to Dhubri including  Kuruwa to Guwahati.



Infrastructures to connect delink areas through construction of infrastructures like multiple Brahmaputra bridges and Express Highway to minimize life risk factors due to battered roads and snarling traffic an initiative will be taken according to the Transport Minister.


Already Rs 30,000 crore has been initiated by the government to avoid repeated scenario of flood following this year by undertaking preventive measures like dredging of the river Brahmaputra and to create waterways to flush out excess water through rivers running from Bangladesh to the mouth of Bay of Bengal.



Emphasize air connectivity through the support of Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) to ease air traffic and hype frequency of flights from vital destinations like  Dibrugarh via Jorhat to Guwahati, Guwahati via Jorhat to Aizawl including Lakhimpur to  Guwahati via Tezpur.
