Secure future of any state or country lies in the hands
of the child’s upbringing and if they flicker then darkness is bound to
overpower it, giving rise to illegal activists.
This child-centric call, ‘Save the Children’ welfare program
initiated by an international NGO in the worst flood hit districts of Upper
Assam like Lakhimpur Majuli and Dhemaji is to help mold the future of the
affected children. Medical, health and psycho-social support should be met
immediately to the flood affected children. As children are very vulnerable
under severe circumstances and cannot wait, there should be all out response by
government and civil society to carry out bold move according to Thomas Chandy.
This initiative has been advanced by the NGO understanding
Assam government’s emergency call for the rescue of flood affected child victims in
the fear of falling prey to illegal activists according to Thomas Chandy, Chief
executive officer of the NGO. All alone this gigantic task is not easy to carry
successfully so they clubbed with the government, civil society and corporate
groups where Thomas added, “the government and civil society is required. Corporate
groups and individuals can do their bit by supporting those organizations which
have a proven track-record in dealing with such emergencies.”
Entire India in 2016 is flood affected except for few states; the Indian
government understanding the grim situation has catered the jobs to responsible
NGOs for quality relief operation output in the flood affected regions. ‘Save
the Children’ is one of NGO’s flood relief operations master minded by Rajnath
Singh the Union home minister who appealed to the social activists of India to
fast initiate rehabilitation program in Assam.
Flood in Assam has left many
homes battered and now the people especially the children are soft target who are
left shelter less. To meet the necessities of the needy the NGO are arranging required facilities like tarpaulin, hygiene kits, drinking water, food baskets,
bed sheets, floor mats and health camps for proper sanitation.
