First time in political history of India a Dalit background candidate has been escalated to President role, Droupadi Murmu who hails from Odisha has taken the oath to become an active President as Ram Nath Kovind completes his tenure.
Strength of Droupadi Murmu is her spirit to gel with people and being humble though she has personal setback. Moreover she had the strength of BJP that helped her ace out her victory with 6,76, 803 votes against her opponent Yashwant Sinha who had 3, 80177 votes.
