Incessant Rain Predicted To Trigger More Landslides

It is not only incessant rain to have flooded 26 districts of Assam but have triggered landslide in hilly areas of Northeast like Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland that can persist to deteriorate condition if IMD prediction come true.

 

According to the India Metrological Department (IMD) estimation there is likely to be more rains in several states of NE for next two to three days due to moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal. Especially isolated places can record thunder and lightning with heavy to incessant rain.

 

Prominent network of new road connecting Pandu and Kamakhya the Nilachal hills lurks danger for landslide as the soil is giving up its hardness. Haflong new faces the biggest lash due flood and landslides. Nature of calamity in new Haflong is associated to Uttarkhand havoc. Figures of casualty to lives remain unaccounted as flood and landslides plays havoc on the livings.

 

NE representatives for flood rescue and restoration are in demands for special flood package as losses are immense and sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India for special economic package, empasized on fast paced rescue operation on the affected areas. Lack of funds is causing hazard in smooth rescue operation for many flood and landslide affected states.
