Self Style heroes of Jorabat, Assam started paving ways as the repeated pleas on media of the dilapidated condition of the National Highway 37 that caused multiple fatal accidents failed to turn government’s eye on it.
People of Jorabat locality have come up to take in charge of the repairing where youths were basically not only in involved in the makeover of the deadly pot holes but also the complete stretch of the tattered road with cement and stones.
On previous month these very youths of Jorabat made
street protest due to the alarming situation of NH 37 conditions by placing
branches on to the potholes against the lapse of National Highways Authority of
India (NHAI).
To this hue and cry on the media by the Jorbat locals
and the All Assam Students’ Union the NHAI team made a makeover the potholes on
the Ninth Mile, Khanapara road. But people of the Jorbalt alleged that
maintenance was half done due to which this time they themselves with few
youngsters are repairing the road. Even after the imposition of toll gate
policy If this is the case of development then what future lies ahead of Assam?
