NE’s Tripura is on to the next major move to boost power economy and was successful in its attempt to derive Rs. 1,925 crore financial aid from the Asian Development Bank (ASB) for Tripura’s power upgrade and distribution projects.
ADB’s Deputy Chief Minsiter Jishnu Dev Varma informed that it is in proper understanding with the state government this sanction of 699.80 crore amount has been made by them to help upgrade state’s Rokhia Project’s earlier generation of power from 63 MW to 120 MW plus 1225.88 crore worth investment on existent Gumti Hydro Electric Project for modern outlook to emphasis greater power generation.
Presently, the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) who is heading the two projects in two districts Gomati district the Gumti project and West Tripura district the Rokhia Project will be the benefiter of this financial aid.
This is not the end, Tripura has another feather to their cap as it has got approval from the North East Council for Rs. 12.7 crore financial support on the installation of 49.15 km Ambassa-Gandacherra power line in the state.
