Monsoon tale in Assam and rest of
Northeast like Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Manipur have the same
consequences where Guwahati is lucky to see the sunny side for two days and
bringing much relief to the Brahmaputra area residents.
Threat of flood that had far
exceeded from estimation, broke through the bank area to flow into the
Commercial domain of fancy bazaar especially apart from Kachari ghat and many
others had nearly threatened Guwahati people with sleepless night.
Nirmali dutta stated, “It is
pathetic that we have nothing to counteract when nature changes weather and
river courses but this time the scenario of flood is unforgettable and is a big
lesson to the government so that in future such devastating episode of monsoon
do not occur repeatedly.”
