Assam witnessed full swing voting in all the left four
constituencies like Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Barpeta on 23rd April third phase
polling as there was strong response from the voters be it patient, old
citizens or women or the specially abled.
In the first half of the polling there was a strong repose as
the weather was fine except due to EVM booth registration
machine malfunction in certain regions of Assam. The rate of male turnout reported to be higher than
women this year.
In the city the poll process was strategically done by dissecting two lane long queues of male and female into multiple ones with one middle row for senior citizens where the infrastructure set up is huge. This process by EC helped to gulp huge turn out of voters' population in few hours time phase. Security personnel was prompt in their action to keep any tension of miscreant interference at bay due to which the voters participated well by casting their votes.
