Tawang, Arunachal Is First Make A Clean Spot In India

Tawang district has been declared as the cleanliest district in Northeast at New Delhi  where Uma Bharati the Union Minister for Drinking and Sanitation presented the award to Arunachal Pradesh’s Mission Director (SBM (G) of PHE & WS department), Sentum Yomcha on 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi.

Arunachal has become more tourism and cleanliness conscious as it has greater enviable spots to drive people internationally where its recent opportunity to win such covetous title out of 698 states of India as survey conducted by the ‘Swach Survekshan Gramin’ (SSG) 2018 an independent agency under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Govt. of India will help further to boost in state’s branding.

In a close scrutiny by SSG it has been found that Tawang district of Arunachal has scored fair well above than the other districts of India with performance of 30% (public place sanitation), 35% (citizen response) and 35% for meeting the parameters of sanitation service level progress. It was few months back when Arunachal’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu had introduced this SSG clean drive scheme in the state on 25th July and has caught notice for progressively following its guidelines with proper implementation and financial release of Rs 30 crore (defunct toilet replacement and rural solid liquid waste disposal regulation).
