Durga Puja Hype As It Grows, Guwahati Braces Up A Mix Feel Of Insecurity And Happiness





In this festive and light showcase grand moment in Guwahati city to draw in more people into the puja pandals where holy deity of Hindu goddess Durga is prayed with puja archana by people from various parts of the state will undergo through a mix feelings of insecurity and happiness this time due to recent blast in the core commercial area which has intensified security measures where on contrary stream of flower shops invites for celebration.


Happiness of festivity on the fall of this grand annual festive season of Durga puja has been marred with the rise in insecurity due to ULFA declared bomb blast in the popular Sukleshwar commercial area where crowded areas appears now less occupied and traffic concentric. On the advent of the seven days puja festive season the National Railway Force has intensified security measures in major track areas plus platforms and railway gate points.


NRF’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) will be operating in casual forms and will be regulating massive CCTV footage in multiple crucial areas to monitor any untoward incidents, especially in concentric Tinsukia and Dibrugarh railway areas apart from Guwahati domain where special dog squad has been implemented to detect explosive materials.


Amazingly as heavy security scenario in this festive mood of Durga puja in Guwahati city marks possible threats of untoward incidents but the invigorating floral sights of Lil, roses and lotus stalls that are spread along the Brahmaputra bank of Sukleshwar Ghat commercial area near pan bazaar and fancy bazaar areas dispels the fear, welcoming the spirit of Durga festivity.


During the fall of Durga puja the flower business in Guwahati booms. Now apart from popular marigold flowers even exotic orchid, daises and jerbera have become favorite demand of the customers. Destinations like Rangiya, Nagaon, Hajo and Morigaon  from where the flowers flow in varied and extensive scale in the city markets of Guwahati. Assam Horticulture department has facilitated many flower planters under varied government schemes to boost their floral production where even proper infrastructures and technology have been implemented to help producers reach their customer’s demand.
