Manipur’s devastating flood rage has washed
away many a vehicle communication links but the biggest blow came when state’s trade
lifeline collapsed due to ply of ten wheel overloaded truck on Barak bridge.
State’s main economic route which is connected
by the Barak bridge had come under collapse due to negligence in monitor of overloaded
trucks over it. Daily 200 plus loaded trucks ply through Barak bridge
connecting NH-37.
It was at the early hours when an overloaded 10-wheeler
goods truck got struck on the bridge after denting a crack on it. Before this
numb scenario the NHIDCL on to a futuristic note had pleaded previously the Manipur government to keep close monitor on the condition of several bridges connecting
NH-37. But none ever imagined of complete cut off of the state from rest of India with mid
crack on the Barak bridge, bringing economy to a collapse in Manipur.
