At the 12th edition of NICT(Northeast Information and
Communication Technology), Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized e-gram
connectivity in 25,000 plus revenue villages to strengthen state's economy and
development.
NICT conference which was conducted in Guwahati on 1st
September, the Finance, Health and Development Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma
acknowledging ABP Group and The Telegraph’s great contribution in this digital
Assam mission for past twelve years stated, "I feel like a veteran having
been a part of the conference for 12 years. Over the years, we have deliberated
on this platform on how information technology can be an instrument for social
change, administrative efficiency and public delivery.”
The entire endeavor is to digitize the remote areas contributing
in Assam’s economic growth and for which it is imperative to activate IT based
programs for electronic mode of operation for faster economic solution. It is
pertinent to step up for digital literacy in rural areas to give dimension to
this mega mission according to Himanta Sarma.
