Delicious sweet and tangy delight of winter the orange, here in Manipur marked in festive way because it brings economic benefit to the state as the fruit is found in variety that are relished in all parts of India, where after two years gap the event is conducted, so the turnover of visitors and traders expected to be high.
The 17th edition, State Level Orange Festival got underway in grand manner with stir of nostalgia among traders and customers due to the effort of Tamenglong and Noney authorities which even Transport Minister Vashum applauded during the inauguration of the event.
Tamenglong has its prominence for orange due to variety, and realized its economic goal through extensive trade in it and been a key player promoting this popular fruit of Manipur. Popularity of orange even state Chief Minister N Biren Singh could not side, and declared seasonal state level festival on it; additionally hoping to chair State Level Orange Festival Committee. Such Orange goes grand especially in Manipur, Northeast.
